 Suspicion

Chapter-1

Dayanand was in a bad mood; when his wife Rumi returned from the office. He was waiting impatiently for her. The plan was to go out for dinner, which was pretty late when she came from her office.

“Sorry, I know it is a bit late, but we can still make it to a restaurant,” Rumi said.

He was angry and had already started drinking out of frustration.

He looked at his watch. It was not so late; he controlled his anger and smiled.

“I know you are angry, honey, but despite very hectic work, I could manage to come,” Rumi said.

“Cheer up, honey, and let’s go,” she cheered him up and was ready to go.

Does she love me? He thought. He was not very sure.

They had loved each other since college and married seven years ago. They had a   happy conjugal life till last year.  Even though they had some differences in the previous six months, as Dayanand wanted a child, Rummy was not agreeable. The other problem was that they wanted to buy an apartment, but their earnings needed to be more comfortable to meet the financial requirement.

The third and most significant problem was Rumi’s new boss, who regularly worked late in the office, which compelled his office staff to work overtime. The result was a regular delay in the office, though this was good too because the team was paid for the extra work hours.

Rummy did not mind working overtime; her income had increased, and she saved it for a good apartment.

She had to work sometimes on holidays, and Dayanand was unhappy about all these issues.

“What are you thinking?” she tapped on his shoulder.

“Come on, decide fast. Are we going out?” She asked.

“What do you say?” he replied.

“Let’s go to the nearby supermarket and buy roasted nuts and beverages if you agree. Also, place an order with Domino for mushroom Pizza and grilled chicken,” she suggested.

“This will save us unnecessary expenses on liquor and food in a restaurant. Moreover, we can enjoy and have a romantic chat,” she said.

“You are right, Rumi. No point in going to a restaurant so late,” he said and went to change dress.

“Let’s go, Rumi, come on,” he said, and both came out.

The Superstore was just near the petrol pump. It was hardly 1 km from their house. They entered and bought the liquors, roasted cashew, and pistachio nuts. As soon as they arrived home, Dayanand placed the online order for pizza and grilled chicken at Domino. It would be delivered within 40 minutes.

They sat in the drawing room. He laid the drinking glasses, liquors, nuts, and water on the center table. Dayanand played a popular album by Arijit Singh on the music system. The environment had turned very romantic.

Dayanand poured red wine for both of them. A few light snacks were available at home too, which were served by Rumi. After a long time, Dayanand saw a change in her attitude, hugged her, and she planted a kiss on his cheek. Dayanand forgot all his complaints.

“You don’t love me like before,” complained Rumi.

“I love you a lot; that’s why I get mad when you are away from me,” Dayanand whispered to her.

“How can you live away from me? I can’t remain without you,” he asked.

“I love you a lot Daya. What makes you think I don’t love you!” she questioned him.

“It is the pressing work in the office and the long tiring journey every day which makes me tired. It is natural, isn’t it?” she said.

“Extra income is important for us, you had told me yourself. It was our idea that we should try to generate additional income,” she continued.

He kept quiet. Yes, she was right. They both had agreed to mobilize extra income to buy an apartment. It was an urgent requirement to have their own house, or else a big chunk of their earnings was going to payment of rent to the flat owner. Moreover, the flat was relatively small. She wanted more extensive accommodation before bearing a child.

“Yes, darling, you are right; it’s not your fault. It is my impatience and immense love for you, which turns me sad and angry at times,” he said.

“Have you checked our savings? When shall we be able to buy our own house?” he asked.

“Maybe one more year!” she replied.

“Oops, that is still quite far,” he was desperate to buy an apartment at the earliest.

“Our company deals in stock and shares. My office deals in stock marketing and investments, and if luck favors, we can double our money within six months,” she spoke and waited for his reaction, but he maintained silence.

He was silent, apparently, but internally, he was seriously thinking about it.

She understood that Dayanand was considering the proposition.

The bell rang, and the Domino’s delivery executive was at the door. Dayanand received the parcel.

It was high time for dinner.

“Are you ready for dinner,” she asked.

“Why not we have one last drink?” he said.

“Ok, dear, please pour a small,” she responded.

“We have the weekend tomorrow, isn’t it?” he inquired.

“Not for me; I have been assigned overtime for tomorrow,” she declared.

He was shocked; he had a beautiful plan to take her on a local sightseeing tour in Mumbai and eat at Hotel Sea Princess. He felt terrible but said nothing.

They went to bed, and Rumi slept, but Dayanand was not sleepy.

The insects of suspicion started crawling into his mind again, and he suspected she was hiding something from him.

Is she hiding something from me? What can it be? He thought, thought, and thought but could not conclude.

If she loved him, she wouldn’t treat him so indifferently!

‘I got to check her activities personally,’ he decided.

Chapter-2

Engaging a detective may be a little risky. If his identity were revealed, his wife would look down on him.

He went to an Andheri shop selling makeup materials to drama artists.

The owner, an old man, approached him, “What would you like to buy, sir? We have dresses, wigs, mustaches, swords, and makeup kits. Whatever you require, everything is available here,”

“I want to buy materials for very light makeup,” he said.

The shopkeeper brought a few pieces of mustaches and wigs. He checked the quality and sizes and fixed those on him. He looked at him and was satisfied, then took him near a full-size mirror, and when he looked, he could not recognize himself. The shopkeeper told him to buy a make-up box to change his skin tone. He paid for the materials purchased and came out. He bought two pairs of trousers, full-sleeve shirts, a coat, mufflers, socks, hand gloves, and a couple of formal shoes from the Big Bazar.

Dayanand called his wife and asked her what time she would return. She said 8 pm.

He put on makeup, new clothes, and shoes.  He had already applied a deep tone to his face, and when he looked into the mirror, he was different.

He walked away from his flat in Navin Mumbai and called an Ola taxi.

He sat in the taxi, and the driver asked for OTP.

The taxi started for the New Galaxy World in West Andheri. It took one hour to get there.

Rumi’s office Dalal Stock Services was on the 7th floor of the New Galaxy World. It was a multi-storied commercial complex, having malls, superstores, and extensive showrooms of almost all brands of garments, electronics, Electrical, cosmetics, medicines, offices, a Food Court, restaurants, and bars.

He had come here earlier with his wife and was aware of the layout. There was a bar cum restaurant on the 9th floor; the bar was famous because of the tasty snacks they served and the moderate prices. Most of the people in the corporate offices in the New Galaxy World came here for lunch. This was Rumi’s favorite Ambarish Restaurant and Bar, and the other executives from her office also were fond of it.

Some stewards had known him well, but now he was in disguise as a middle-aged, dark skin guy with a mustache and grey hair patch and wearing a fawn-colored coat, which had changed his look drastically. There was no possibility of Rumi or her friends recognizing him. He found that most of the tables were already occupied. The restaurant Manager took him to a corner table at the far end, and he sat there. He ordered a whisky and snacks, went to the toilet, looked into the mirror, and was satisfied with his makeup.

He returned to his table, and the steward served him Johnnie Walker Black Lebel Scotch whisky with ice, soda water, and a bottle of drinking water. He poured the ice into the whisky glass and topped it with soda. The grilled chicken pieces were garnished with lettuce leaves, cucumber, and tomato and looked yummy.

He looked around and found that all the tables were full. A single woman came and asked whether she could join him. She was a pretty woman, under 40 years. He thought for a moment and allowed her to sit.

“Are you working in this complex somewhere?” he asked her.

“No, I don’t,” she replied.

He signaled a steward passing by, and he came.

“Mam, you are my guest now, so feel free to order whatever you like. The bill will be on me,” Dayanand told her.

“Ok, sir, thank you. Please order a Budweiser beer and snacks for me as per your choice,” she said

“One Budweiser for mam, and what about a plate of chicken Manchurian,” the steward asked.

“Ok, buddy, please get it fast,” he told the steward.

The lady was relaxed now.

“What do you do?” she asked.

“I work in a company as a sales manager,” he replied.

“What brings you here?” she asked.

“My luck,” he said, smiling.

“What are you expecting from your luck?” she asked.

“It’s my good luck that gave me a chance to meet a beautiful lady like you,” he laughed.

She was happy to hear that, and she also laughed.

“My name is Anjali, and you?” she spoke.

“I am Ravinder,” he replied.

The steward returned with beer and chicken Manchurian for her. He opened the beer can and poured it into a glass.

Dayanand saw her taking the beer. She was not as old as he had thought. She must be under 35 years. The way she had dressed and done her makeup, she deliberately tried to show herself as elderly.

She was also trying to look around the dining hall. Dayanand wondered whether she was also there to spy on someone like him!

He ordered another drink for himself and a beer for her.

Anjali and Dayanand started to open up gradually.

“Tell me, Anjali, are you in any problem?” he asked.

“Yes, I have certain issues, but I don’t think you can help,” she replied.

A few tables were vacant now, and a group of people entered, headed by a tall, muscular man. He appeared to be their boss. And there she was! Rumi was also in the group. He watched them, and surprisingly, Anjali was also watching them.

“Are you also looking at the same people?” he asked her.

“Yes, the tall man is my husband, Babu Rao. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Dalal Stock Services office,” she said.

“Does he know that you are here?” he spoke.

“No, I am in disguise; he can’t recognize me,” she replied.

“Do you have any issue with them?” she inquired.

“Yes, I do have. We are in the same boat. Let’s go somewhere else where we can talk freely,” Dayanand proposed.

“Ok, let’s go to the park across the road. We can talk there, without any disturbance.

He paid the bill and went out. Babu Rao and Rumi were sitting closely in the group of office workers.

Chapter-3

They crossed the road through the subway tunnel near the park. He bought two entry tickets and went inside. The park was well maintained. They sat on a wooden bench underneath a dense tree. It was still sunny and comfortable to sit there.

Dayanand brought two cups of coffee from the coffee stall and sat together.

“Let’s talk frankly and openly; maybe we can be helpful to each other since we both have similar issues,” she desired.

“My wife Rumi and I were quite happy together; however, since her new boss came, he engages her in overtime work, late in the evening and even on weekends. This had spoiled our married life, and he suspected she might have some affair with her boss,” he said and stopped.

“My husband, Babu Rao, is in charge of the office. I also have similar issues. Earlier, we were in Chennai, and we maintained an excellent relationship. The problem began only after he was transferred and joined here in Mumbai, and he started staying late in the office regularly. This raised a little doubt in my mind, and I want to verify it,” she said frankly.

“Anjali, we both have the same problem. We are just suspecting, but we may be wrong too. I have a close friend who might be helpful. His name is Anand, and he has a detective agency in the Khar area,” he suggested.

“That is a good proposition, I agree,” she said.

“My real name is Dayanand; what is your real name?” Dayanand wanted to know.

“I am Saroja,” she replied.

“Nice name,” he complimented.

Dayanand called Anand and told him about the situation briefly, and they were called the next day at 10.30 am.

They went to their respective homes after removing their makeup.

Dayanand slept after reaching home. He called Rumi. She said that she would be back by 7 pm.

Rumi had a wash, prepared dinner, and woke him up.

“Good evening Daya; wake up; dinner is ready,” she said.

Dayanand woke up. “What did you do the whole day?” she asked.

“Took two pegs of whisky and then went to Kaka Di Dhaba for lunch,” he replied and went to the washroom.

“How was your day, honey? Where did you take lunch?” he asked.

“We had a very hectic day. We all took lunch in the restaurant cum bar,” she replied.

“Your boss also ate in the restaurant?” he asked.

“No, my boss was not there,” she spoke.

What a white lie! He decided to investigate her and her boss’s affair thoroughly.

She served the dinner. She had made khichdi, mashed potatoes, and fried brinjal.

Why was she telling a lie? He wanted an answer, but no point in asking her.

He thought of sleeping. He had to go out tomorrow to Anand’s office.

He woke up early, had a morning walk, and took a shower. Rumi was still sleeping, and he did not wake her up.

There was bread in the freezer. He cut two slices of bread and toasted them in the oven. Made an omelet with plenty of onion, tomato, and cheese. It was a good breakfast, toast with butter and jam, an omelet, and apple juice.

He sat on the rear balcony, read the newspaper headlines, and enjoyed the sun. The headline stated, ‘A woman murdered her hubby and ran away with her boyfriend.’ What an era we are passing through, he thought. Reading a newspaper is no more attractive nowadays. We get all the news from the internet and TV, and the number of newspaper readers has decreased.

Rumi had already woken up and was listening to music on YouTube. Dayanand made two cups of tea and gave her one.

He dressed at 9.30 am, came out of the house, and booked a taxi for 156 Khar West. He reached Bharat Security Services at 10.20 am and called Saroja, the wife of Rumi’s boss, Babu Rao;  she was about to come.

The caretaker, Bir Bahadur, took him inside, and he sat in the reception room.

“One lady is about to come,” he told Bir Bahadur.

“I will take care of her, no worry, sir,” he replied and went out.

Saroja arrived and joined him.

“Where do you live?” Dayanand asked.

“I stay nearby in Khar East,” she replied.

Anand arrived precisely at 10.30 am and called them into his chamber. One of his senior detectives, Chander, also joined them.

Dayanand introduced Saroja to them and introduced himself to Chander.

Anand knew Dayanand as they had studied together in college and were in touch on social media. After some time, Bir Bahadur came to call them for tea. They went to the guest house adjacent to the office, where breakfast was served on the dining table.

“Anand was very hospitable and looked well after his guests/clients. This helped the people to calm down and start the deliberation with a relaxed mind. Most of our readers who have read Sea Queen’s story on this blog must know him and his brilliant detectives. Chander is an ex-police person and a bright and expert detective whom Anand trusts.

Saroja said that she and her husband, Babu Rao, both were from Chennai, and their married life was very peaceful and happy there. His change came after he was posted here in Mumbai on promotion. His salary was relatively high, and there were too many females in his office, and she suspected him of having an affair with someone or maybe flirting with more than one.

Babu Rao was not ill-treating Saroja, but he seemed to have lost interest in her and was spending more time in the office or on tour. Anand told them not to worry since they gave the investigation to his firm.

He said that as far as Rumi was concerned, she had no interest in Babu Rao because her and Dayanand’s joint income was almost Rs.2 lac per month. She worked overtime to earn a little extra buck so they could afford a good apartment in Mumbai.

Babu Rao was a good husband in Chennai but a changed man in Mumbai.

The reason for this may be:-

1.       Too much income earned from salary and commission in Mumbai

2.       Some people tried to take advantage of his position by pushing him into the wrong path, like gambling, boozing, womanizing, drugs, etc.

“The above two points have to be investigated thoroughly. His office deals in share trade. In such a position, he may be influenced and bribed. Moreover, he may be having a high income from the commission earned on trading,” Anand said.

“The case will be solved as soon as his sources of income are revealed. One lady and a male detective would be engaged to extract the information from Babu Rao,” Anand concluded.

He further clarified that as Dayanand was his friend, he and Saroja would not be charged any fees except the actual expenses incurred on the investigation.

Dayanand and Saroja agreed to this and will pay an amount of Rs.1 lac as an advance on Monday.

Chander noted down the names of all close friends of Babu Rao.

Saroja gave the names of some very close friends of her husband.

1.       Ambar Girwani:       Share broker

2.       Oliver Singhania:     Share Broker

3.       Bhumi Rohidekar:   Investment Advisor

4.       Sopona Nayak:        Senior investment advisor in his office

Saroja and Dayanand were asked not to interfere in the case unless and otherwise, their services were required by the detective agency.

Babu Rao’s office was usually closed to the public on weekends. Hence Chander decided to start their work on Monday.

Chapter-4

Chander and Ruby went to the office of Babu Rao, posing as investors. As soon as they entered, she was taken to Miss Sopona Nayak.

“Good afternoon to you both; please take your seat,” Miss Nayak said.

“I am Sopona Nayak, Senior Investment Advisor,” she continued.

She produced a booklet showing the services they offered to clients.

“Are you interested in investment?” she asked.

“Yes. That’s why we are here,” Chander said.

“We are coming from Vasai, a small town. The market is bad, and almost all businesses are down except medicines and hospitals,” Ruby said.

“We have solutions for all these problems. Let’s go to our Chief Executive Officer; Mr. Babu Rao is one of the best investment advisors to guide you to success,” she took them to his chamber. The chamber’s size and furnishing showed his high status in the company.

Chander and Ruby introduced themselves as businessmen from Vasai. They dealt in marble and Kota stones, and ceramic tiles.

“We have just heard from Miss Sopona that you can do a miracle in share investments. Please help us with good investments so we may cover some of the severe losses incurred during the last pandemic,” Chander said.

“May I know your name, sir? Babu Rao asked.

“My name is Seth Dheerajmal, and she is Vinita, my manager,” Chander gave him fake names.

“Glad to meet you both,” he responded.

“Let me give you the proposed investment plan,” Babu Rao continued.

Chander interrupted, “Sir, let’s discuss this in some good environment.”

“Good environment… meaning? Babu Rao smiled.

“Good environment means some party warty in a nice cool place,” Chander said.

“3D Party, sir! Drink, Dance and Dinner,” Ruby smiled.

Babu Rao was pleased. He had got a good person, seeking investment and enjoyment. He was very impressed with them.

He proposed to Chander and Ruby to join him in lunch in Ambarish Restaurant cum Bar on the 9th Floor.

“I have a little better proposal, sir; our Mr. Seth would like to invite you to the revolving restaurant cum Bar on the 34th floor, Balle High,” Vinita(Ruby) said.

“That’s a better place, sir, I accept your invitation, but our office will pay the bill,” Babu Rao declared.

“You have a beautiful office with beautiful flowers,” Chander (Seth Dheerajmal) said, smiling.

“The flowers will be yours once you join our group,” Babu Rao said.

Babu Rao introduced them to his office workers. It was around 1 pm and a perfect time for lunch. Babu Rao decided to take them to Balle High and invited three lady workers from his office.

They were Sopona Naik, Rumi and Tarla Nagor.

He called the restaurant and booked a table.

They were six people altogether. Chander had rightly said flowers. All these people were young, beautiful, and intelligent. They all seemed well-educated, trained, and experts in stock and share trading. Due to possessing all these qualities, they were the real gems of the office. Chander was greatly impressed by their experiences.

Babu Rao was pleased to meet their new clients, who seemed rich but inexperienced in the trading business. He would advise them to invest in shares, giving them a handsome return. Having a good client base was beneficial for his company and himself. In addition, he was attracted to Vinita (Ruby) and wanted to befriend her.

The company had promoted and posted him in the Mumbai office, considering his experience and capabilities to do business through him. They were paying him a high salary and expected good results from him to fetch more and more business. There was constant pressure on him to increase the turnover. This pressure kept him working hard and harder through his office workers and by some other means.

Chander and Ruby had not found anything wrong with Babu Rao’s behavior. Let’s wait and watch, Chander thought.

The whole New Galaxy World complex was done meticulously under the expert advice of an Architect from Singapore, and many of the electronic materials used in the building were imported from the USA, Japan, and Singapore.

The lift reached the 34th floor just in front of Balle High restaurant. An executive received them and escorted them to their seats. The interior of the restaurant was awe-inspiring. The traditional hand-woven Indian carpet with silk base laid on the entire floor, the gorgeous chandeliers hanging from the high ceiling, and the well-designed lighting system gave it a palatial look. The whole restaurant was very slowly moving 360 degrees.

The panoramic view through the glass windows was terrific. They all tried to capture the views through the window. The fixed charge per person was Rs.4000 for the entire meal, consisting of Indian, Chinese, and Continental dishes. The beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, were included.

A captain was looking after only one or two tables—a perfect arrangement where you could chill in a relaxed atmosphere. Light instrumental Indian music was playing at a low volume, which was pleasing.

Chander and Ruby sat together, and Babu Rao and Sopona sat opposite them. Rumi was on the left of him, and Tarla was next to Ruby.  All settled in their seats, and a hostess arrived with a trolly carrying the beverages. Chander and Babu Rao preferred Scotch whisky on rocks, and the ladies took jin or vodka-based cocktails. The starter consisted of hot grilled chicken, fish, prawns, mushrooms, cottage cheese, and vegetables.

Babu Rao informed Chander that Miss Sopona Nayak, their Senior Investment Advisor, would give a short presentation about the company. She explained intra-day and long-term stock investments, the benefit and risks involved, and how to check the status of daily opening and closing calls, etc. She said that share trading was risky for new people, who needed proper knowledge and experience. Her company Dalal Stock Services was a pioneer in this field and would keep a strict watch on the rise and fall of share markets and take appropriate and timely action in consultation with the clients.

The brief presentation was complete, after which Babu Rao assured Chander that they all were highly experienced in this field, which meant the best and most profitable return on their investment. He said that the share market was stable now, and they could prove their efficiency in intra-day trading by investing a small amount of Rs.1 or 2 lacs.

“That’s good,” Chander commented. They all concentrated their attention on drinking and eating. The Indian veg starters were also delicious.

All enjoyed their drinks and starters. Babu Rao, Sopona, and Tarla were tipsy after three drinks. Rummy still needed to finish her first peg of vodka with sweet lime. Ruby had ended three large jins. So all were in a light mood by now. Sopona tried to flirt with Seth Dheerajmal (Chander), and Babu Rao tried to please Vinita(Ruby).

The time was now 4 pm and the lunch hour was up to 4.30 pm. They were all full, so they did not like to take lunch and went straight for sweet dishes, which consisted of ice creams, Indian rosagolla, hot gulab jamun, ras malai, puddings, pastries, etc.

The bill presented was under Rs.30,000 only, which Babu Rao signed. They again sat in his office for some time and found out who else was closely associated with their office.

Babu Rao said that he had three close associates from the share markets, Ambar Girwani, Oliver Singhania, and Bhumi Rohidekar, who had stakes in his company. They were beneficial and honest people, and he would like to introduce them to Seth Dheerajmal (Chander). Chander noted the mobile numbers of all officials and also these three associates.

He said he would like to meet them and then decide on the investment volume. Babu Rao said he would arrange a grand dinner party aboard a private ship on Wednesday.

They departed from their office at 6 pm and went to their office, where Anand was waiting.

Chander gave a detailed report to Anand regarding his meeting with Babu Rao, CEO of Dalal Stock Services. He said that there was nothing wrong found in his behavior. All the lady workers were also found to be very sincere and hard-working.

Babu Rao intended to hold a party on a private ship on Monday, where three of his closest associates dealing in stock and share trading would be present. He and Ruby have been invited to join there. The root cause of the problem can be traced to the ship.

“Chander, you and Ruby must be very careful because I suspect they have laid a trap for you on the ship,” Anand warned him.

Chander was surprised. However, he must believe Anand because he was their boss, a retired Major from the Indian Army, more resourceful.

“So you are astonished by my comments?” he smiled.

“Yes, sir, I am surprised. But you must be right. We have full confidence in your leadership. Please enlighten us about this,” Chander spoke. Ruby was listening without any comment.

“Ok, listen carefully. I had checked about those three close associates of Babu Rao, Mr. Amber Girwani, Mr. Oliver Singhania, and Ms. Bhumi Rohidekar,” Anand started explaining.

“I have confirmed information that Amber and Oliver both were involved in a drug smuggling case and convicted for seven years for tracing 50 grams of cocaine in their possession. They formed a company after release; and started dealing in stock and share trading, and suddenly they became wealthy,” Anand continued.

“My sources have informed me that they bought an old ship and, after renovation, started renting it to rich and dubious people for illegal activities; and thus became very rich and wealthy over time,” he continued.

“They are doing well in the share trading business, but to earn more, they are involved in scrupulous ideology. They employ primarily well-educated females in their offices and use them to influence and trap innocent customers,” Anand was speaking.

“They encourage their customers to join parties on the ship, where everything is made available to them for free, like wine, food, women, gambling, and drugs. The video and pictures are made, and then the clients are blackmailed,” Anand continued.

“They would not hesitate to wipe out such customers who dare to raise a protest. It is high time now to take drastic action against these criminals. However, the record of Ms. Bhumi Rohidekar is clean so far, and no action is required at present,” he spoke.

“What should we do under the circumstances?” Chander inquired.

“You and Ruby will go with them to the ship, and you will have a live hidden camera, which will keep sending us video footage. You will also have special Bluetooth, and GPS watches through which we may communicate. If necessary, you may mute our voice, but we can hear the sounds from your location. The GPS-activated watches will send your location to us,” Anand briefed them.

“I have already contacted the Navy and Narcotics and Drug Prevention Department, and they will be on sea for a joint operation on Wednesday to raid the private ship Young Dolphin on receipt of a signal from you,” Anand continued.

“We shall be watching you and ready to protect you if the situation demands. However, I advise you both to carry small hidden firearms. You should also take tiny smoke bombs to give us a signal if necessary,” he instructed.

The code name for this operation is Naughty Dolphin.

Chander and Ruby went home after the briefing.

Chapter-5

Ronnie and Sammi were two young detectives in Bharat Security Services. Anand instructed them to drop Chander and Rubi at Mumbai Port on Wednesday and stay in a hotel near the port. They would set their GPS watches with Chander and Ruby and keep tracking their location.

They would also watch the live video from Chander’s spy camera and would alert Anand if there were any problems.

Babu Rao informed Seth Dheerajmal (Chander) to come to the Mumbai Port with Vinita (Ruby) on Wednesday at 5 pm sharp.

Ronnie and Sammy dropped Chander and Ruby in a private car. Chander wore dark-colored trousers, a light green shirt with a navy-blue short jacket, and Ruby wore black trousers and red tops. She had put on a crème color cardigan. They looked perfect for the party.

A double-decker luxury cruise was standing there. Tarla Nagor and Sopona Nayak were waving to Chander and Ruby. They responded and boarded the cruise. Twenty people were sitting on the Lower Deck, and some were on the Upper Deck. The ship was about 25 meters long and 8 meters wide. The look from the outside could have been better, but the interior was done nicely. There were 20 comfortable seats on each deck. There was a pantry on both decks and a bar on the upper deck.

Tarla and Sopona took them to the upper deck, where Babu Rao welcomed them and introduced them to Mr. Amber Girwani, Mr. Oliver Singhania, and Ms. Bhumi Rohidekar.

The captain and navigators had taken their positions, and the cruise was ready to sail. The Pilot welcomed all the passengers and announced that the voyage would start flowing within 2 minutes and everyone should take their seats. A hooter started buzzing, and the cruise moved to the deep-sea area. The weather was favorable as the wind velocity was average, and the tides were low.

There was a Captain, a Pilot, and a navigator on the ship to manage the cruise.

Chander excused himself to the toilet and talked with Anand. As informed by Anand, his live camera and GPS signal were good.

He came back and sat with Babu Rao and others.

The cruise went deep inside the sea and was stopped in one place. The real party began here. After having one or two drinks, they were taken to the basement, which was small but very cozy. There were 20 people there. The bartenders brought drinks and snacks. A piece of hot and loud music started playing, and a girl came and performed a cabaret. All the people were enjoying themselves.

Another girl came and performed a floor show. The people were served marijuana, and they rolled those in emptied cigarettes. The whole room was filled with the toxic smell of the grass.

Mr. Amber Giriwani and Mr. Oliver Singhania were watching Chander and Ruby. They rolled a cigarette and sent it to them through Babu Rao. Chander said that he was not used to that, but Babu Rao kept insisting, so he had to take it, and his eyes became red. Sopona, Tarla, and all the other ladies were enjoying the kick of marijuana, and they made Ruby smoke.

The tempo of floor shows was increasing, and the floor shows were becoming vulgar.

Amber Giriwani and Oliver Singhania came near Chander and sat down.

“Why are you not smoking the grass,” they suddenly charged him.

“Hey, do not shout at me,” he shouted back.

“We knew you both were detectives and came here to spy on us,” he roared.

“We allowed you to come with us; so that we could bury you in the sea in a deserted place.   No one will know where you both vanished,” Oliver said.

“Why do you people want to kill us?” Chander asked.

“Because you have tried to spoil our business,” Amber replied.

“Your destiny is death only, nothing below that,” Oliver said.

“We do not know anything about you both; we met you for the first time,” Chander said.

“Sir, what connection do you both have with Dalal Stock Services?” he asked.

Babu Rao came and asked them not to harm them as his office name was involved, and he did not want his office’s name to be spoiled due to any criminal case.

Oliver was very wild with him and slapped him hard. Babu Rao fell due to the sudden jolt. He got up and hit him back.

“How dare you hit me? Don’t forget that we have a number of your pictures and videos, which we can send to your family and your headquarters,” Oliver growled.

The quarrel between them was going on. Suddenly the sirens from a Naval ship were heard, and helicopters flew above the cruise. Navy and Narcotic and Drug Prevention officials charged into the cruise and took everyone on board in their control. Oliver and Amber were stunned by this sudden raid and surrendered. The cruise returned to Mumbai, and they all had to go to Narcotics & Drugs department to record their statement.

Chander vouched for Babu Rao; because he was being blackmailed by the main culprits, Amber Giriwani and Oliver Singhania. He submitted the video recordings as proof against them. It was also proved that Babu Rao was not involved in any illegal activities; hence, they just recorded his statement and released him and his staff.

Anand called a meeting in his office, where he called Babu Rao and his wife Saroja, Dayanand and Rumi, Sopona Nayak, and Tarla Nagor and gave a briefing.

“Babu Rao was under pressure due to blackmailing by Amber Giriwani and Oliver Singhania. Due to this pressure, he was compelled to work overtime with his co-workers.

Babu Rao’s staff vouched that he was a man of high moral character, and hence the suspicion of his wife, Saroja was baseless. Dayanand’s fear of his wife, Rumi, was also unfounded.

Anand requested both couples to remove the suspicion from their minds and lead a happy and peaceful married life.

Babu Rao thanked Anand, Chander, and Ruby for clarifying his position to the Narcotics & Drugs Prevention Department.

Hereafter all of them lived a happy conjugal life. The office of Babu Rao started functioning in a better way, without any external pressure.
