A new State of Jharkhand came into existence under the Republic of India on November 15, 2000, by carving out from the southern portion of Bihar State. Hazaribagh fell into the new state of Jharkhand. I had three elder sisters and three younger brothers. The eldest sister was married in 1954 and stayed with her husband in Patna. The six brothers and sisters stayed with our parents at Hazaribagh, and we studied in schools and colleges.
